Ни то, что он по сути объяснил и попробовал доказать лишь один тезис из 4-х заявленных. И даже его манера выводить много текста сразу без анимации не портит в целом это выступление.
Все потому, что
- Логичная структура (начало, проблема, решение, заключение)
- Я могу нажать на паузу, если что-то не понял и
- Человек говорит разумные и даже немного контр-интуитивные вещи для большинства людей, что вообще-то для TEDа редкость. Ведь негласная заповедь успешного TED-выступления: «Говорите то, с чем все согласны, просто делайте это интересно и смешно».

This keynote isn’t spoiled by a way too much “acting” in the beginning with the story of changing the university. Obviously, the producers insisted on that “acting”. The fact that he basically explained and tried to prove only one thesis out of 4 stated — also doesn’t ruin the talk. And even his manner of displaying a lot of text on the slide all at once without any animations does not ruin the whole speech either.
This is because of:
- Logical structure of the talk (intro, problem, solution, resolution)
- I’m able to pause the Youtube video when it is too dense
- The speaker talks about quite reasonable things and maybe even a bit counter-intuitive for the majority, which is a rare case for TED. After all, the unspoken commandment of a successful TED-performance: “Just say what everyone agrees with, but make it interesting and funny”.
